DARK COUNTRY, by Edward Case

 

Family action thriller.  An Iraq War vet suffering from post-traumatic stress goes on vacation with his wife and daughter to repair the family rift caused by his disorder.  They take a wrong turn to an isolated luxury hotel and become trapped in a depraved billionaire’s twisted version of The Most Dangerous Game.  The vet calls back on the military skills he had to repress in order to save the lives of his family.

 

SCARRED SABRES, by Del Gist

 

Actioner set in New Orleans.  Two disabled ex-mercenary buddies reunite after ten years to rescue one’s runaway teen daughter caught in a drug conflict between a riverboat gambling queen and the Mexican Mafia.  Both vets are skilled fighting machines, except for one drawback:  one has a dead arm, the other is in a wheelchair.

 

RAPSODY, by Mark Cohen

 

High-tech action thriller.  The death of a friend leads a pair of teenagers to uncover subliminal messages in a music program that has the ability to radically change people’s behavior, with alarming results.
